
DAY 1: Group meeting at a hotel in Guarulhos, near the International Airport, for our first dinner. Overnight at Hampton by Hilton Guarulhos.
DAY 2: Morning flight to Campo Grande (MS). Transfer to the Bonito region. If time allows, an afternoon visit to Buraco das Araras. Opportunity to float in the crystal-clear waters of Rio da Prata, resembling a natural aquarium. Overnight at Pousada Surucuá, in the Bonito area.
DAY 3: Day dedicated to photography at Buraco das Araras. The red cliffs and resident Red-and-green Macaws make this one of the best locations to photograph these birds. Other species in the area include Blue-crowned Motmot, Yellow-necked Ibis, Toco Toucan, among others. Overnight at Pousada Surucuá, Bonito.
DAY 4: After breakfast, we head to Aguapé Lodge. Located in the southern Pantanal, the lodge features excellent feeding stations that attract a wide variety of bird species. Highlights include Hyacinth and Blue-and-yellow Macaws flying nearby. Other species include Toco Toucans, Black-headed Parakeets, Monk Parakeets, Red-legged Seriema, Plush-crested Jay, Red-crested Cardinal, and more. Nine-banded Armadillos are commonly seen in the area. Activities include boat trips and safari drives, considered among the best in the world for spotting and photographing Giant and Lesser Anteaters — our main target here.
DAYS 5 & 6: Full days exploring the feeding stations and participating in safaris at Aguapé Lodge.
DAY 7: Final morning at Aguapé. After lunch, return to Campo Grande for a one-hour flight to Cuiabá. Overnight at Amazon Airport Hotel.
DAY 8: After breakfast, we depart for the Northern Pantanal. After approximately 1h40, we begin our first birdwatching and photography session along the Transpantaneira dirt road to km 45, at Rio Claro Lodge. In the afternoon, a boat trip on the Rio Claro. Target species include Green-and-rufous Kingfisher, American Pygmy Kingfisher, Agami Heron, Helmeted Manakin, Red-tailed Comet, and Sungrebe. We will also photograph birds in flight such as Black-collared Hawk, Cocoi Heron, and various kingfishers. Overnight at Rio Claro Lodge.
DAY 9: Morning boat tour on the Rio Claro. After lunch, we continue to Porto Jofre, traveling about 100 km along the Transpantaneira in search of wildlife and photographic opportunities. Check-in and overnight at Hotel Pantanal Norte, the most traditional lodge in the region, offering excellent service, rooms, food, and boats.
DAYS 10, 11 & 12: Full days exploring the Porto Jofre region by boat in search of Jaguars. Other wildlife includes Tapirs, Giant Otters, and a rich variety of aquatic and riverside birds.
DAY 13: Final morning searching for Jaguars by boat. After lunch, we return along the Transpantaneira, arriving in Cuiabá in time for dinner at a traditional Brazilian steakhouse to celebrate our journey. Overnight at Amazon Airport Hotel.
DAY 14: Morning flight back to São Paulo for connections with international flights home.
