A 2 hours flight from SP International Airport, gets you to the city of Cuiabá, in the heart of Brazil, from where one can visit the famous Pantanal wetland (just 2 hours drive), the best south american Safari, the homeland and the best place to watch the mighty Jaguar, and a huge variety of birds and mammals.
The best places to know the Cerrado, the Brazilian Savannah is also in the neighborhood. Just 1 hour drive in the Chapada dos Guimarāes, or going deep to the Emas National Park, one of the best places in Brazil to watch mammals and to find some rarities of the Cerrado, including the bioluminescent termite-nests in october.
A quick flight northward to Alta Floresta brings you to the southern frontier of the Amazon, where some privates and publics reserves protect the deforestation to go deep into the jungle in the region called the Arch of the deforestation.
